The Logansport-Cass County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting Tuesday, May 21 at Hometown Health Solutions, 417 E. Market, Logansport. "Hometown Health Solutions has been an insurance company in the same building since the 1980s," says owner Stacy English. "Previously it was A.M. Young, then Packard & Associates." The name changed to Hometown Health Solutions when English, a long-time employee of Packard & Associates, purchased it on January 1, 2019. Hometown Health Solutions focuses on health insurance, primarily senior health and drug plans that go along with Medicare, including supplements, prescription drug plans and advantage plans. The company employs three licensed agents: Stacy English, Stephanie Bender and Laura Albright. One of the questions they're asked most frequently is "How can I save money?" English says the answer often is "Change plans." "A lot of people get a plan when they turn 65 and just keep it," English says. "If you do that, you're going to be paying way too much. Plans change every January 1. Even if your needs don't change, the plans change." English says the open enrollment period, when you can change prescription drug or advantage plans, runs from Oct. 15 through Dec. 7. Supplements can be changed any time of the year. She encourages people to call or stop in if they have questions or would like more information. You can reach Hometown Health Solutions at 574-722-4725 or at hometownhs.com. "It's nice to have someone local that you can come and see any time you want," English says. "We offer many different companies and will work with you to find what's best for your specific needs."
